Another visit to the Lynchcombe nature reserve on the slopes of the Mendip Hills in Somerset.
As a volunteer reserve warden I keep an eye on this reserve for the Somerset Wildlife Trust. Today I hoped that everything was in order and, of course, that there would be something interesting to photograph. Today that was collection of beautiful golden leaves in low autumn sunlight.
Photographing leaves in a breeze is not that easy. I wasted at lot of shots trying to get a swaying leaf in focus.
Catkins are a favourite, they signal that life will return next spring.
The trust, its sub-contractors and volunteers are always busy on the reserve. Here scrub clearing is key to restoring the limestone grasslands.
