Starling Dawn
Early morning and looking west from the top of Glastonbury Tor the Avalon Marshes and RSPB Ham Wall are sitting deep in the mist. Not a starling in sight.
Down in the Marsh
Diving down in Loxtons Marsh are a million starlings making quite a noise in the fog. Still nothing to see.
As time moves towards 8 o’clock the birds start to move around between the reeds.
Gradually, the noise level increases and more and more birds are flying around in a starling soup.
Suddenly, the flock bursts into the air.
Witnessed by a handful of lucky people.
Which way to look?
The marsh falls silent.
