Back on the Starling Trail
Another mild but grey day today. What better than to sit in a hide, with a cold, and watch lots of ducks. That is until some starlings start to arrive.
RSPB Ham Wall the perfect location to watch thousands of starlings fill the sky. Simply zoom your camera lens wide open and point the camera vertically upwards.
Thousands of birds descend into the reedbed.
The tufted ducks watch for a while but they have seen it all before.
The starlings fill up the reeds.
Turning them black and flat.
After a few huge flocks many more line up heading for the reeds.
It takes a long time for the chaos to settle down. The starlings fly around and around spreading out across the reserve.
