Starling Trail
Back on the Starling Trial on the Somerset Levels. The season has been going for a few weeks already and numbers are steadily increasing as the colder weather attracts more and more birds to the relative warmth and safety of the roost.
The first big flock of my season arrives in the skies above Loxtons on RSPB Ham Wall.
This time of year the birds can arrive in beautiful autumn skies. The days are still long enough that the sun may not have set and golden leaves are still attached to the trees.
Its early in the season even so the RSPB car park was half full (half empty) and the main drove was lined with people watching the spectacle.
