Butterfly Transect

Getting a few more butterflies as summer attempts to start. June weather had been so poor on the weekends so this was the first transect for a few weeks.

Today was the day for Meadow Browns.  Not a record – I once had 183 on a single transect.  Occasionally, some of the these turned out to be Ringlets.  They rested on this cold day deep down within the bracken.  Also saw a few skippers, painted ladies on a mission and a rare common blue.
