North Cheriton Snowdrops
North Cheriton is a tiny village in South Somerset with a beautiful church at its heart surrounded by a sprinkling of snowdrops.
Church of St John the Baptist
Like so many villages without a pub or shop the church, and the village hall, are the hub of the community.
The war memorial opposite the church states:
-
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN PROUD MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS VILLAGE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919. FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH AND IN THE MEMORY OF THE FALLEN OF THE 2ND WORLD WAR 1939-1945
Snowdrops
The churchyard has a small patch of snowdrops in the top corner.
However, the little flowers are also found around the village. Leading away from the church is a grassy lane lined with snowdrops.
And Finally…
This small pair of flowers decided the middle of the lane was the best spot.
