Model Farm near wells sits in the middle of crisscrossing footpaths.  North of the small city of Wells it is surrounded by woods and hills at the end of a quiet lane.

Model Snow

Catching up with posts on the recent springtime winter weather in Somerset the farm was deep in snow when I visited a few days ago.   With grey skies it was not the best weather for panoramic views instead I focused on the details in the snow.

The soft dry snow that had been falling for a few days was topped by wetter snow brought in by Storm Emma giving the drifts a hard crust.  This allowed it to form a series of weird folding shapes.

I am sure how a bird walked up this vertical bank of snow.

This ivy leaf was slowly sinking into the snow.
