Bratton Seymour near Castle Cary in Somerset sits on Bratton Hill with long views to the east. This outlook has made it a favourite of mine during the spring equinox. Today I was a few days late – but close enough. However, it was not the church but a small flock of sheep that caught my imagination.
I arrived at Church Walk just before dawn and these girls immediately took an strong interest in the photographer.
The sheep kindly stood in front of the sunrise.
The 13th century church is beautiful.
And the bench below the east window of the church has views across Somerset.
