South Brewham
The parish of Brewham in South Somerset contains some lovely villages as well as some steep hills.
The Church
South Brewham church sits tucked away on Charcroft Hill. It seems there has been a church on this site since the 8th century. Of course it has been rebuilt and updated many times. Today some parts of the church are only eight hundred years old.
But my favourite spot is an old oak tree that grows next to the road between South Brewham and Hardway.
Old Oak Tree
I’m not sure if this tree has a special history, or a special name, but either way it looks special.
At this time of year the sun rises behind King Alfred’s Tower creating a beautiful silhouette of the tree.
