Starling Dawn

The weather forecast for this morning was good so I headed down to Ham Wall to which the starlings leave their roost.  This was a bit of a gamble as I did not watch the birds roost the night before – they could be anywhere.

I waited by this blue lagoon in the Loxtons.  Its a great place to watch as the RSPB have provided a bench with this fantastic view.  And, of course, there were lots of starlings of either side!

Dawn

The birds on the lefthand bank drifted away without much ado.  Luckily, the group on the right put on a brilliant flyby.

After the starlings had gone, and the reed bed was quite, it was time to watch the sunrise over the Walton’s lagoon.
