Village Snowdrops
There are lots of places to see snowdrops in my area of Somerset. The best areas seem to be the Camelot villages down south and around Mells and Nunney up north. Today I ventured up north to Mells.
Mells
Mells is set in the coal mining and quarrying region of Somerset. Today the quarries are still busy, not so the coalfields.
Jack Horner discovered the deeds to Mells Manor in a pie given to him by the Abbot of Glastonbury. This gave rise to the nursery rhyme Little Jack Horner.
There seem to be snowdrops everywhere around the village of Mells, but my favourite were along the edges of the common.
The weather was overcast but bright enough for some soft whites and greens.
In the soft light, I decided to go softer using out of focus flowers to create soft white clouds.
And softer…
And softer, now the camera was on the ground looking through lots of flowers.
