Christmas
Christmas Time
The nativity crib festival at St Cuthbert’s Church in Wells is one of the highlights of the year.
On Christmas Eve I walked around Lynchcombe above Wells. I am a volunteer warden for the Somerset Wildlife Trust and at this busy time of year it is hard to find the time to check on the reserve. So a quick visit before the rest of the family is awake is the perfect opportunity. Specially when a sunrise is thrown in.
It’s Christmas Day and before the chaos starts a few moments to enjoy the dawn views over the tiny city of Wells.
After a series of dull cloudy days Christmas Day was perfect – bright blue skies with a mist over the Somerset Levels.
The mist lingered well into the morning high up on the Mendip Hills.
I got up a bit late on Boxing Day and missed the sunrise. I left my camera on the wrong settings from Christmas Day and in the rush I messed up. Still, the view the other way made up for that disappointment.
And Finally…
Back to the nativity festival.
