Early Morning Necklaces
Misty morning down on the Somerset Levels near Glastonbury.
Across the moor the cobwebs caught the morning dew. Creating early morning necklaces.
Science Bit
Pearly drops of water on these silken threads is something we take for granted. But this only happens because of the thousand of tiny knots created by the spiders. Water slides down the smooth threads until they are caught by the surface tension at a knot.
Anyway they look beautiful.
