Bluebells of Longwood
Longwood in Somerset is famous for its Bluebells. This weekend was a bit early – next weekend should be better. This year the Bluebells are out before the wild garlic (ramsons) has started to flower. This picture was taken whilst on a family walk – so no tripod, only a single lens and little time to survey for the best viewpoint before “I’m bored, can we go now”. On a family walk you need to work quick, having planned what to shot before you start the walk. Waiting for the sun to pass behind a cloud, or perhaps the next or the next whilst the family watches, can be an anxious few minutes – then just as the light is perfect a group of walkers stand in the view.
