An Afternoon off Work
Last autumn my work relocated 25 miles away from home. It created some time and travelling difficulties. However, I quickly decided that to make the most of the move I should start exploring reserves close to the new site. Finally, when the rain stopped for a few hours so I ventured down to Alners Gorse in Dorset with my friend Paul. Two pairs of eyes are better than one and we were on the look out for hairstreaks. We saw none! Perhaps we will try again next week. We did find lots of Skippers, Ringlets and Meadow Browns plus a few Marbled Whites. The highlight was this Damoiselle that sat on this sunny oak leaf sheltered from the wind.
