Combe Hill Woods
The Combe Hill Wood near Street in Somerset is easy to access, it has a big car park and lots of well managed foot paths. Perfect for an easy Sunday afternoon stroll.
The woods are part of a mosaic of other woods each owned by different people, companies or conversation organisations. Walking around it is difficult to know which wood you are actually in.
Coming out the woods to the south, it could have been Kings Wood by now, you reach a patch work of small fields at Gilling Down.
In the distance the low autumn sun illuminates the woods.
And finally…
It may be one and quarter miles to Butleigh, but in the opposite direction. This old finger post has lost its top fingers and the one remaining is pointing in the wrong direction.
