Starling Trail
It can be beautiful on RSPB Ham Wall at dawn. So today I popped over to the reserve to see what the starlings were doing these days in the morning. It looked promising with a nice sunrise brewing over the lagoon at Waltons Heath.
Looking the other way the sky had a magical pink glow. Then in the darkness the starlings, that had been making a lot of noise for the last half hour, began to roll over the reeds.
They seemed to take a long time to get going. But soon a long line of starlings exited the reserve just above the trees. You have to look pretty hard at the next picture to see them.
A few decided to treat us with a close fly over. Those pinks were lovely.
However, this morning it was the lapwings who knew how to put on a show.
