Stockhill Woods
Focus Stacking
Today the weather was poor – dull, grey and wet. So I took the opportunity to practice focus stacking. Focus stacking is where you take a series of pictures of the same scene each with a different focus distance. Then in Photoshop they are blended together into a single image.
I went up the road to Stockhill Woods. My aim was to get an entire moss covered wall in focus, or to get a whole group of trees in focus.
In this shot the focus stacking worked well.
Other images did not work as the fern fronds moved too much between each shot.
I thought the moss covered dry-stone walls and trees looked really good.
And finally…
There is a tree in Stockhill Wood that is decorated each Christmas.
