Walton Heath
Walton Heath (named after the local village) is part of RSPB Ham Wall. Its not your typical heath of gorse and heather, but reeds and open water.
Sunrise
We have not seen much sun recently. But a brief gap in the clouds created a beautiful sunrise over the heath.
Once the starlings have flown the roost, it is worth the short wait to watch the sunrise over the lagoon. Today, despite dark clouds we were very lucky that a small gap allowed the sun to briefly appear just as it appeared over the horizon.
And finally…
The sun had already disappeared behind the clouds. But this pair of great crested grebes were too busy dancing to each other to care about that, or notice the marsh harrier above.
