Glastonbury Edge
People climbing to the top of Glastonbury Tor. This is normally me, but this time I wanted to watch the sunrise from the base of the Tor. There is a footpath that comes up from town and crosses a field below the Tor that provides a good vantage point for the sunrise.
I had pre-planned this trip a few days ago, and today the weather looked good.
Below is a screenshot of the Sun Seeker app taken on my mobile phone. The yellow line shows the path the sun as it will rise in the sky. As you can see, now is a special time of year as the sun skirts the edge of the hill side as it climbs to the top of St. Michael’s Tower.
I positioned myself at the best spot along the footpath from which to take a series of pictures over the next couple of hours.
It was a beautiful morning as the sun appears above the horizon.
Unfortunately, I never got to finish my project. A call on my phone pulled me away to work earlier than expected. If the weather is good in the next few days then I may get another chance, otherwise I’ll put in it my calendar for this time next year.
