Mendip Mist
Excitement as I woke to thick fog. I think you would call this fog rather than mist, but the word mist sits better against the Mendips.
A quick breakfast followed by a dash to the top of the Mendip Hills. The Mendips are in Somerset in the south of the UK. At around 250 metres up are the Priddy Mineries and the neighbouring Stockhill Woods.
I had been waiting for some fog to linger around the tops of the hills all winter. A chance to enjoy the white, the quiet and the atmosphere up here.
The scattered hawthorn trees provided a perfect set of focal points.
Around the back of the Waldegrave Pond, is the wet swampy ground where the dead trees grow. You can just about make out the low sun in the centre of the picture.
And finally..
The fog started to lift, bringing in some lovely blue sky. Some one had a drone and from above the landscape of mist and trees looked amazing – very jealous!
