Paradise Hill
Paradise hill is part of a ridge of carboniferous limestone running east-west to the south of Croscombe. Its road link Wells with Shepton Mallet providing a more traffic free route for commuters, including cyclists.
Mist
The roads across the hill which I usually to call the ridge road, even thought the Ridge Road proper is only part of the route, provide many vantage points to watch the mist roll in across the valley.
Sunsets
It is also great spot to watch the setting sun. From Paradise Hill, in mid-December and mid-January the sun sets behind Glastonbury Tor. If it is slightly out of align you can move up and down the road to get that perfect shot.
Wanderlands
On Paradise Hill there is a new patch of woodland planted by Wanderlands.
At the entrance is a small parking area. If you look towards Glastonbury Tor from the entrance to the car park it lines up perfectly with the cross at the top of Worminster Sleight. I was amazed when I noticed this, its so perfect that the picture looks fake!
