There is a small group of fish living in Wells that are getting a lot of attention.  They are three-spined sticklebacks, which are pretty common in Somerset and the rest of the UK.  However, these have taken up home around a drain cover in the town centre.

In the small city of Wells water drains, from the fountain in the market place, down open drains on either side of the High Street.  It is these that the small sticklebacks call home.

I have seen several people standing astride the drain casting their shadow over the water to get better photographs.  They take everyone that notices them by surprise.
