Starling Trail
The first few starlings stream back to RSPB Ham Wall in front of a golden evening sky.
Looking north the number of birds grow as they swirl into patterns across the sky.
Ham Wall once again attracts hundreds of daily visitors to watch this display.
Soon the colourful sky is full of arriving starlings.
They drop into a reed bed known as Walton Heath. But after weeks of roosting north of the viewing platform this is too big a change for some. They stream over the visitors’ heads back to their familiar roost.
They continue to stream across the sky as it gets darker and darker.
