South Horrington Chapel
Before sunrise I was standing in a very cold field above the chapel of the former Mendip Hospital just outside the tiny Somerset city of Wells.
The hospital generates it own mist.
The steeple sit atop of a very sturdy church. I picked today as the sun was expected to rise immediately behind the steeple.
It is not long before the sun illuminates the whole landscape.
The old hospital has a lot of interesting buildings that have been converted into flats.
And finally…
No story would be complete without a trail of starlings crossing the sky. Not long after leaving their roost site at RSPB Ham Wall a stream of starlings flies up the valley to the fields high up on the Mendip Hills.
If may have looked warm on that morning, but it was freezing. These were the brambles yards from where I was standing for 2 hours!
