Starling Trail
Bonus trip to RSPB Ham Wall during a brief break in days of poor weather. This time trying out another new location. Watching from the bench in the south west corner of Waltons Heath. This spot has the obvious benefit of a nice place to sit and wait for events to unfold. So with the camera on a tripod it was time to lean back and enjoy the early morning cold and frequent showers.
I was hoping for some red dawn colours behind Glastonbury Tor – sadly that never happened.
The birds lift out of the reeds in a series of waves. Heading south they fly over the open water, to be ignored by the swans that have seen this many times before.
And finally…
After the starlings had flown the clouds started to break letting in some golden colours.
Lovely!
