Starling Trail
I was recently driving passed Wells on the bypass near Morrisons when a large flock of starlings flew overhead. They were on their way to the roost at RSPB Ham Walls.
I have seen starlings in the trees around Palace Farm before so I assumed they had gathered there before flying off to the roost.
So today I headed to the farm to see what was happening.
It turned out the starlings were not in the trees. Within minutes of reaching the farm, a flock appeared from the direction of the cathedral and flew over the farm. Luckily my camera was already in starling mode and so I grabbed a few pictures before they disappeared.
There was also a flock of fieldfares circling around the farm. A nice bonus.
And finally…
I really wanted to catch the birds flying over the cathedral. After a long wait some small flocks appeared.
