Starling Trail
The fields around Glastonbury Tor are covered in water pouring out of the Brue. I was hoping for a reflection of the Tor but the wind was too strong. The rippled water destroying any hope of reflections.
Starlings feeding on the damp fields swoop around.
As the sun dropped huge flocks of starlings approached along the River Brue from the east and on reaching Cow Bridge they rose up into the sky.
The number of birds was huge taking several minutes for the flock to pass by. It was an amazing sight!
More flocks followed, flying fast and low over the River Brue.
As the evening turned red the starlings kept coming.
As the wind had dropped I returned the next day in the hope of that perfect reflection of the Tor. Sadly, that day all the water was frozen solid.
