Priddy Green in White
Having popped home to warm up I could not resist rushing straight back out to capture more of the snow on the Mendip Hills. This time to visit the only village high up in the hills.
Priddy
The village is pretty small, but its village green is huge, and very picturesque with its well known stack of hurdles.
You cannot spend much time on the green without noticing the noise of the local jackdaws and crows. I had to wait while to catch a large flock take off from the trees. In fact this picture is a blend of a few pictures. I bit of a cheat but does help to convey the impression of the birds.
Snow Drops & Snowdrops
Snowdrops are reaching the end of their season in March. I already knew of a few patches near Priddy that tend to be late. Luckily a few of these were tall enough to poke through the snow.
This one was just down the road near the Hunters Inn.
Dry-stone Walls
The dry-stone walls add much to the character of the countryside around Priddy.
And, the snow really helps show them at their best.
And Finally…
Even in a bright yellow outfit I’m not sure they want to go for a walk.
