Henton Spring
Henton is a small village set in the Somerset countryside just a few miles west of the small City of Wells.
Each spring I look forward to visiting the church to photograph the flowers.
Across the churchyard are hundreds of primroses that sparkle in the sun as the morning light catches the dew.
It is still early morning and the sun cuts across the face of the church.
You have to wait until later in the morning for the celandines to open.
And finally…
The celandines provide even more colour, but I suspect the primroses will still remain the peoples favourites.
I have a real soft spot for celandines, they signal spring to me more than any other flower. My wife worked for a while at Henton, stunning views from there.
Thanks for your comment. I had family in the nursing home at Henton so visited often. It is a beautiful location. I feel celandines do not get the recognition they deserve. Jeff
