Ashcott Spring
Ashcott is a small village on the low ridge of the Golden hills in Somerset between Walton and Shapwick. It has pubs which is great see these days.
In the churchyard the spring blossom is in full flower. So the bees are thankful.
On the ground there is a colourful patch of celandines.
Once the village had a train station at Ashcott Corner. But it was a mile or so north of the village down a steep hill to the Somerset Levels. These days the corner is better known for the large car park at the RSPB Ham Wall nature reserve.
Hopefully, in a couple of months the car park will once again be full of oxeye daises.
From Ashcott Corner the footpath winds its way into the Avalon Marshes.
