Tealham Moor

They say “Anyone can love the mountains, but I takes soul to love the prairie.”.  Or, as I say – Anyone can love the Mendips, but it takes wet feet to love the Levels.

But seriously, the Levels and Moors are beautiful.  Tealham Moor has become my current favourite.  The rough wet grasslands cut into sections by seemingly endless straight roads in one directions, and muddy rutted droves in the other.

At regular intervals little bridges allow the roads and droves cross the drains and ditches.

Calling something this beautiful a drain seems very strange.

The swans call it home.

Little Egrets

When I was young you never saw any little egrets.  Today you cannot avoid seeing them hanging around the cattle.  I’m not sure if they like each other.

But, sometimes they seem to be having fun.

And finally…

Those flies are still everywhere!
