You never know what you are going to get when you visit Ham Wall to watch the starlings return to their roost. Sometimes you get wonderful patterns, or a chasing marsh harrier. Today we got 70,000 birds a moon and a beautiful sky.
A small gap in the otherwise cloudy sky was just enough to illuminate the distant clouds.
As the sky darkened the starlings dropped into the reed bed of Loxton’s Marsh ready for the night.
