Tealham Reservoir
The Tealham Reservoir
From this picture it looks like a permanent lake with a walkway around the edge complete with spring daffodils. It does look very nice in the blue skies of spring.
The entire moor seems to be covered in a new lake.
I’m do not expect anyone one will be using this gate for a while.
It is hard to understand how the local farmers cope with all this water.
I was cycling down Totney Drove. The water got gradually deeper but getting through was no problem. The flooded fields create a reflective glow that looks and feels stunning. It reminds me of the glow you get from a covering of snow.
At Rattling Bow the bridge crosses the North Drain. But the drain is almost impossible to make out as it is completely covered by the new lake.
And finally…
This milk float has seen better days. I wonder if it would live up to its name and begin to float away as the water rises?
