Last Snowdrop Standing
I was surprised and delighted that one of my pictures (above) was on display next to the door of St Leonard’s Church in the village of Butleigh near Glastonbury in Somerset. It is a bit of a shame that the church roof was being repaired that day.
Today the light was not as good, and the daffodils were slightly over, so I could not repeat the picture.
However, I was amazed to find a solitary snowdrop trying to enjoy the weak spring sunshine. I hope to return next year earlier in the year to see a carpet of white flowers?
A chance to pop in to have a look around.
Outside the spring sunshine was catching the cyclamen that are spreading out across the churchyard.
This wonderful window is worth searching out around the corner.
Nearby, primroses own the hedgerow.
And finally…
Village signs are often home to a daffodil display. This was taken a couple of years ago when the verge was clear of road works.
