Winter Sunrise Over the Axe Valley
A car winds its way towards Cheddar in Somerset. Above it the sky is slowly turning red as dawn brings in some beautiful colours.
As the sky turns amber a large flock of crows takes to the sky, leaving their tree top roost in the shelter of the valley to venture up onto the Mendip Hills.
Not long before a flock of starlings, probably from RSPB Ham Hall, make their way to the hills. These birds are much harder to spot. Whilst I could see the flock in the distance, I was not sure that they were in the picture until I got home and looked on the computer.
Eventually, the sun brings some warmth and another change in colours.
Dawn’s golden colours shine over the islands of the Somerset Levels.
And finally…
Now the sun is up in the sky, time to walk back down the hill to Compton Bishop.
