Colour Field – Purple
I like photography projects as they inject new ideas and new ways of looking at the environment you pass through everyday without really looking. This year my topic is Colour Field. Fields of colour in the countryside. For me this is a move away from nature towards human’s impact on our countryside. This year instead of butterflies and dragonflies I will focus on plants and fields.
My first colour is purple. Purple dead nettles (Lamium purpureum) are one of the first plants to flower on the Somerset Levels. I saw this field out cycling from my home, and returned the next day with my camera.
