Uphill

Today I had a day trip to Uphill on the North Somerset coast.  Just south of the village is a large hill made from carboniferous limestone.  This supports  extensive species-rich calcareous grassland meadows.  Today these are full or orchids and buttercups.  At the very top stands the Old Church of St Nicholas.

On the way  I made a couple of unplanned stops at Lympsham and Brent Knoll.
