Starling Trail
I Spent today at Westhay Heath, cycling around after finishing work at midday. During the afternoon I wondered around the few footpaths that cross the reserve. Most of which were too wet to walk without wading.

The Flock Arrive
The birds began to arrive, then huge numbers descended around the trees. They dropped into the reeds just yards from the road.

Some birds stopped off at the trees. I waited until the noise dropped. The birds took a deep breath, got ready, jumped and exploded into the air.
