Edford Meadows
An evening visit to Edford Meadows with other volunteers from the Somerset Wildlife Trust. This was my first ever visit to this reserve and many thanks to the SWT for the evening and especially the pizza and chips in the pub afterwards.
The narrow path down through the fields.
Flowers
The meadows were full of flowers including Betony (Steaches officials), knapweed (Centaurea nigra), oxeye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare) and self-heal (Prunella Vulgaris). The grasses providing a background of soft fog.
Marbled Whites
Add some beautiful butterflies to the mix of pink flowers and misty grasses.
Following on from a handful of Marbled White (Melanargia calathea) at Lynchcombe a few days ago, today there were many more at Edford Meadows.
And Finally…
A few more insects: Five-spot burnet (Zygaena trifolii) and some bees.
