Painted Lady
I saw a Painted Lady (Vanessa card) for the first time this year. I expected to see them earlier. It reminded me of the huge numbers of these butterflies we had have a few years ago.
Mites

I have seen these mites before, and they are not rare, but in the past they have been mainly on Marbled White (Melanargia calathea) such as those below I photographed a few years ago at Hatch Hill in Somerset.
