Dawn at Ham Wall
At this time of year you may think that Ham Wall is just about starlings. You may think it about rare birds such as the bittern. You may think its about sitting in a hide with a pair or binoculars. But it is also a beautiful landscape. Add a few common ducks, swans and robins and at dawn you have a golden living landscape.
On a glorious winter morning this view from next to the first viewing platform was only ten minutes walk from the car park. Why would anyone stay in bed and miss this?
Add a group of young swans…
From the Tor View hide a group of ducks enjoy the peace and quite after the starlings have left for the day.
Even if you are not tall enough to see over the reeds the sunrise was glorious.
Everyone loves a robin and this one enjoyed the attention (and food) it was getting.
And Finally
This pair of swans made the most of the frozen pond next to the reserve car park.
