Starling Trail
Boxing Day evening at Ham Wall and as expected the car park is overflowing with visitors. Its good to see so many people taking an interest in nature.
The starlings did not make many shapes in the sky. This is because the roosts are still spread out across the Waltons and Loxtons. However, the visitors got to see the birds close-up in their roosts amongst the reeds plus the movement of the birds between the roosts. So they probably got more of an insight into the life of the starlings.
The birds arrived in large groups and dropped straight into the reeds.
And Finally
The birds streamed across from Waltons West to East and on to Loxtons Marsh. This went on for ages, all in front of the huge crowd at the first viewing platform.
