Snowdrop Valley
With the bad weather, and being full of a cold, I just about made it out of the house for a short visit to Mells in Somerset to photograph the snowdrops.
The Village
Snowdrops can be found all around the village such as these on the village green.
Snowdrop Valley
My favourite snowdrop site is the Mells Valley. It has steep sides and sunlight only reaches the woodland floor for a few hours in the middle of the day. Over the years I have taken many pictures down this beautiful valley.
On the damp valley floor the tree roots are covered in wonderful moss.
Moss covers everything that does not move.
A small spider sits on its web in the centre of the picture.
This photograph was taken just as the rain stopped and a gap in the clouds allowed the sun to backlight the scene. The light catching the water droplets on the cob web created a string of pearls.
