Henton Spring

The small mill-stream village of Henton lies along the Axe valley west of Wookey and the City of Wells. It sits below the low ridge of Callow Hill from which you can look across the Axe Valley towards the Mendip Hills.

On a March morning the low sunlight casts long shadows across the fields above Henton.

Primroses and Celendines

The Christ Church of Henton is soon surrounded by a sea of primroses and celandines.

On this typical spring day the rain was still falling covering the flowers in water droplets.

There were so many flowers I had to take great care not to step on them.

Most of the celandines were closed waiting for the sun to return.
