I’m waiting for Autumn

I’m waiting for Autumn to come south to Somerset. Last weekend I got up early to visit Beacon Hill near Shepton Mallet, this Woodland Trust site is my favourite autumn wood. But, the colours were not at their best and neither was the weather. It was so dull I had to use a range of exposures from 2 to 5 seconds!

This was my favourite picture of the morning. I used a patch of over handing golden leaves on the near tree to fill the top third of the frame. A few rays of light reached the woodland floor helping bring some life to the picture and draw the eye. Just a shame there was no deer, badger, squirrel, friend or even a gateway to give a focal point. Can I put a pair of rabbits on the tree stump using Photoshop?
