Ham Wall

My visit to Prospect Fields was shorter than expected so I headed back home.  The traffic was building so I decided to make a detour via the Avalon Marshes.  I was just avoiding the busy roads and had not planned to stop.  But something brought me to a halt – the car park at RSPB Ham Wall.

Driving Miss Daisy

I have been disappointed in not finding a field of daises this year (or any other year).  So when I saw the beautiful display created at the RSPB Ham Wall nature reserve car park I had to pull in, display my membership badge, and take some pictures.  A case of – drive in and not miss daises.

I assume the RSPB has planted these dense islands of daisies between the parking spaces.

Earlier in the year the car park was full of red campion (Silene dioica).  Some how I missed that.  Today a few remained between the daisies.

Damselflies

Of course, this is Ham Wall so flying around the car park were birds, dragonflies and damselflies.
