Weston Air Festival
This weekend is the Weston Air Festival so where else could I go to watch the displays but the Uphill local nature reserve. May be with a few orchids and butterflies thrown in?
The site lies on limestone with a diverse flora on the rock ledges of the quarry and steep slopes. The reserve puts on a great display of cowslips, primroses, buttercups and green winged orchids in the spring. Today they have all disappeared instead the show is in the air.
Unexpected Start
The airshow got off to an unexpected start when a nearby parascender took to the sky.
A quick visit to church.
Floating passed Brean Down.
Back down to earth.
The Red Arrows
The Red Arrows are everyones favourite and they put on a fantastic show behind the church.
The church was in perfect position for their awesome display.
They signed off with a heart.
And Finally…
A long queue of people wait to leave the nature reserve through the single kissing gate.
