Autumn Equinox
I’m usually the first to arrive at Glastonbury Tor but today is the autumn equinox and its was going to be very popular.
I was beaten to the top by the druids. But, I got there before the yogis, the godnesses, the hippies and way before Americans.
Autumn Equinox
Today the sun rises due east and sets due west, and the day length nearly matches the length of the night.
Before the sun appeared above the horizon the colours were intense and mist was lying across the levels. As the sun appeared the sky was still a perfect orange.
Watching the Sunrise
The equinox attracts people to the top of the Tor. On a morning like today I amazed the place is not packed.
Taking a few moments to soak in the sun.
Great spot for an early morning picnic and some music.
An opportunity to capture another beautiful view.
Time for an early morning flight.
Long shadows form across the levels as the sun rises above Pennard Hill
On the way back down.
And Finally…
The last wisp of mist floats over Glastonbury.
