Collard Hill
I normally visit Collard Hill to photograph the large-blue butterflies in summer. But today I returned to find out what the hill is like in autumn.
Collard Hill
We have been so lucky to have some beautiful Indian Summer evenings this week. The sun is still setting late enough to give me the chance to take pictures on the way home from work.
The evening light really brought out the autumn colours.
Its a bit early in the early for autumn so I had to search out the best patches of colour.
The hill has long views across the Somerset Levels. This tree framed the Redlands row of houses in the village of Compton Dundon.
The sheep are doing a great job in keeping the grass short for next years large blue butterflies.
And Finally…
This is the best spot for views of Dundon Hill and the village of Compton Dundon.
As the evening draws in the shadows spread out across the fields.
